Athena Cosby,

President and Founder of Destined 2 Dance Awards

She is a 26 year old full time mother, who is strongly influenced by the artistic development of dance, having to compete at national level and won several national titles Talent on Parade and Encore. She had the opportunity to teach pieces for competitions as well as the Black Expo. She has performed solo and competed in several states. During these competitions seeing the wars between dance studios concerned her. "Is this all we have to offer is these competitions that lead great dancers to envy one another instead of congratulating each ones success as a dancer." Ms. Athena has put together this awards show, so that it may expand nationally, so those up and coming dancers or studios who don't compete can have the opportunity to be recognized. This show is used to help build clientele for the studio's as well as showcase what the studios have to offer. She is taking this show state to state and soon all dancers, instructors, and studio's  will meet under one roof with out the dance rivalry.

Our Business

We are here to install dance in the hearts of those who haven't grown to the art of dance. Our goal is to open everyones eyes to be able to accept dance and its many different genres. Therefore, the key is when you walk out of our show, you will  learn how these dances orginated and learn to respect the different dance genres that you never understood, not to mention you will be entertained and ready to join a dance class.

Who We Are

Latasha Mister, Clerical Administrator and Recognition Coordinator

She is a 25 year old native of Memphis; Latasha is a graduate of LeMoyne-Owen College year 2005. She currently works with Memphis City Schools. Her life’s work is to make a positive impact in the lives of youth. She loves to dance, play tennis, and do community service.

Latoya Mosirius, Dance Coordinator

She is 24 years old and born in Memphis, Tennessee. She has two sisters and one brother. She has been married for three year and has a beautiful son. She completed college with honors, she played sports all of her life. Basketball is her favorite sport, other then extra curricular activities she enjoys going to church and spending time with her family. Her favorite type of dancing is free-style dances, because it allows you to expand the inner you as you perform.
