Shelley N. Dockery, Executive Marketing Representative for Destined 2
Dance Awards
Ms. Dockery serves as the liaison between the company and its sponsors.
Currently, Shelley also works as a freelance writer and graphic designer.
Previously, Ms. Dockery gained much experience working with a local
church in Conway, AR as their Senior Youth Advisor. Here, she organized
fundraisers and rallies that provided complete funding of trips and youth
sponsored events. Also, she served as a spokesperson for the youth
department at community and social events. Furthermore, she wrote and
performed powerful speeches for district programs.
In 2007, Ms. Dockery worked with the City of Little Rock, Department of
Community Programs as a Public Relations Assistant writing press releases
and creating public service announcements that increased the number of the
City’s Summer Jobs Alliance participants and sponsors. Prior to this, Ms.
Dockery worked with the Walt Disney Company as a Character and Parade
performer, changing and enriching the Wald Disney World Resort experience
for guests.
Ms. Dockery holds a Master of Arts degree in Graphic Design from Miami
International University of Art and Design, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in
Mass Communications from The University of Central Arkansas. Ms.
Dockery has spent many years in the past dancing as a hobby with schools
and local church organizations. In her free time, Ms. Dockery enjoys
spending time with family and friends, traveling, shopping, and playing the

Latasha Mister-Echols, Executive Recognition Coordinator for Destined 2
Dance Awards
Board Representative for Dance With A Cause Inc.
Mrs. Echols is a native of Memphis, Tennessee, 2005 Graduate of LeMoyne-
Owen College, and a member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Incorporated. In her
spare time, Mrs. Echols likes to dance, play tennis, and mentor youth. Her
favorite genre of dance is ligurgical dance, the expression of praise and
worship through body movements. Mrs. Echols believes dancing with the
feet is one thing, but to dance with the heart is another. “Liturgical dance is
a ministry. Therefore, there is message in the music and a purpose for my
dance,” stated Mrs. Echols. Mrs. Echols believes she is destined to dance
and she thanks God for gifting her with the ability to dance. Mrs. Echols can

Athena Cosby, President and Founder
Destined 2 Dance Awards and Dance With A Cause Inc.

Ms. Cosby is empowered by artistic development of dance. She has
competed at the nation level and has won several national titles including
Talent on Parade and Encore. She has had the opportunity to teach pieces
for competitions including The Black Expo. She has performed solo.
Furthermore, she has competed in several states. During these
competitions, seeing the wars between dance studios concerned her.
“Are these competitions all we have to offer? They lead great dancers to
envy one another instead of congratulating each other’s success as a
dancer.” Ms. Cosby thought. She quickly became inspired organize the
Destined 2 Dance Awards Show. The ultimate goal Ms. Cosby has for the
Destined to Dance Awards Show is that it will expand nationally, allowing
up and coming dancers and/or studios who compete and perform
recreationally, the opportunity to be recognized for their superior art in
dace. In addition, they can showcase the different styles of dance under
one roof and in a new light. Ms. Cosby is a mother and teaches dance. She
holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Dance Education; and is currently
continuing her education at the University of Southern Nazarene, where
she is pursuing a second degree in Business Management (Organizational
